With the classic American rear-wheel drive platform being pretty much extinct, we applaud everyone over at Chrysler for keeping the LX platform alive! It’s hard to beat a full-size rear-wheel drive car, especially when it’s equipped with the classic Hemi V-8. As good as the LX platform is, we think the stance leaves a lot to be desired. With that in mind, we sharpened our pencils and set out to design the lowest, bolt-on, adjustable suspension possible. Low is certainly a cool statement, but “low” can be achieved in many different ways—we decided to do it the RIGHT way. What is the “right” way, you ask? Well, not only did we engineer our kit to have a ground-hugging stance, but we designed it to enhance performance handling and improve ride quality. Try getting all of that out of a set of lowering springs or coilovers!
Our front kit features a threaded body monotube shock, with 30 levels of damping adjustment, topped off with a smooth-riding, double-bellow air spring. The struts look just as sharp as they perform, from the black chromed steel shock bodies to the bright red anodized air spring end caps all attached to an anodized upper mount with a high-quality monoball bearing. Put all this together, and you can now drop the front of your LX 4.88 inches from that unsightly OEM ride height.
For the rear, we tossed out the factory coil spring in favor of our double-bellow air spring, allowing you to drop 6.69 inches from the original stock height. To make sure your rear end is not bouncing down the road, we use a 30-level damping monotube threaded body shock to complement the front shock.

As the leader in air suspension products for over 60 years, Air Lift is committed to delivering quality parts that last. To ensure longevity for the customer, the key suspension components have been tested on a durability rig for over one million cycles, which equates to 100,000 miles. With a one-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, you can purchase this kit with peace of mind. Ditch those coils and get to a new level of low!
What sets these struts way apart from the coil-over crowd is the addition of our adjustable, progressive rate air springs. These high-rate springs create a stable platform for aggressive track-driving while providing a level of comfort not typically found with lowered suspensions. By using this progressive style of air springs and maximizing available suspension travel, you’ll be able to ride low without the punishing ride. And since they allow ride height to be adjusted with a button, no longer do you suffer the curses of static suspension lowness! No more issues with speed bumps or steeply angled drives. Raise it up as high as stock to ride off-road without damaging the under body, and just think how easy it will be to load it on the trailer or get your jack underneath.
And the handling? Feel like hitting the track or your favorite twisty road? We’ve spent countless hours at the track, fine-tuning our suspensions to give you the best handling possible. With the twist of the damping knob, you can go from a smooth street ride to a race-car-type stiffness that will have you grinning when you take your first curve at speed.
So what does it take to have such a versatile suspension? It all starts with having a strong foundation. In this case, the struts: Air Lift uses 30-way adjustable, monotube struts—with a serious range of damping adjustment—that have been specially tuned to match the air springs. Monotube construction is the preferred choice in racing, and it’s the preferred choice for us; its sensitivity to small inputs, as well as the great ability to shed heat when pushed to the limit, make it top-notch in our book. The 30 clicks of adjustment aren’t just for fun, but they allow you, the user, to dial in your preferred handling feel or desired ride quality. The range goes from super-stiff to very soft, adjusting rebound and compression together, but with proportionally more rebound. The struts weigh considerably less than the coil spring parts you remove, reducing unsprung weight—a benefit to both ride and handling.
Installation is simple with Air Lift Performance’s detailed instruction manuals and only basic hand tools are required to complete the job. EVERYTHING is included with the combo kits: front air struts, rear air springs, and tuned shocks. There are no modifications required in front, and only four small holes to drill in the rear spring pocket area. If you can wire a stereo and swap suspension parts, you can install this system yourself!
Okay, so as cool as all this sounds…what does it all mean? No more sacrificing ride quality to get your car low and losing any type of load-carrying capabilities. Now you can have a nice ride while getting the stance you really want. Hauling a heavy load, or taking all of your friends out for a night on the town? With lowered coils, you would be scraping everywhere you tried to go. With an Air Lift Performance kit, now you can just push a button and level your car back out.
What’s the bottom line? Great looks, awesome performance, exceptional versatility, proven durability, and easy installation…only from AIR LIFT PERFORMANCE!
